Dental Bridges

Take Pleasure In Your Newly Complete Smile

If missing teeth make you feel uneasy about the appearance of your smile or cause problems with chewing and speaking, you may benefit from a dental bridge. If you are missing one tooth, or multiple teeth side by side, a dental bridge may offer you an efficient, aesthetically pleasing solution.

What Is A Dental Bridge?

Dental bridges are devices crafted to replace one tooth, or two or more teeth in a row. A bridge includes a series of dental crowns color-matched to surrounding teeth and custom-designed to promote a comfortable bite. This fixed dental prosthetic requires two healthy abutment teeth – or anchor teeth that rest on either side of your open space – for support. To permanently place the bridge, Dr. Chakka will cement the dental crown located on either end of the bridge over each anchor tooth.

Why Is A Dental Bridge Significant?

The crowns that rest between your newly covered anchor teeth will fill your open space for a beautiful, complete smile. In addition to enjoying improved self-esteem, other advantages of dental bridges include:

  • Teeth naturally shift into open spaces – a dental bridge inhibits your remaining natural teeth from moving, thereby preserving your current teeth alignment
  • A bridge offers a permanent alternative to partial dentures
  • Your bridge returns you to full function, so you may chew comfortable and speak articulately
  • A bridge completes your smile, for a cosmetic improvement and a more youthful appearance

Am I A Good Candidate?

If you require replacement for a single missing tooth, or multiple missing teeth in a row, you may qualify as an excellent candidate for a dental bridge. In addition, you will need healthy anchor teeth to support your dental bridge. For an alternative solution, Dr. Chakka may suggest a partial denture.
